Master´s degree field Economic Demography is conjoint field of Department of Statistics and Probability and Department of Demography and is intended for bachelors. The content industry is advanced demographic and statistical methods and models and their use in evaluating data on population and economic situation and to resolve practical issues at various levels of management of the economy and society, and at regional, national and international. Students are deeply familiar with the problems of demographic aspects of social and economic development and the status of the population as consumers and as creators of products and services. Attention will be paid to human capital and its measurement and related issues of the economy, education and health care.
Graduates will be interdisciplinary educated professionals, whose possibility of application are i.e. in the field of creating population forecasts at all levels, state and local government, the state statistical service, private sector (corporate demographics, market research, propagation), economical sphere (analysis of implications of an aging workforce, economic context of migration, analysis of unemployment), social sphere (designing concepts of social politics with regard to the continuing aging of population), health care (medical prevention, health care statistics, analysis of mortality and causes of death), scientific-pedagogical area (possibility of doctoral study) or in the research work aimed at population and its relations to economic, social and health care are.
