Scientific Activity

Scientific activities of the Department focuses on particular questions issues of basic and applied research in the field of statistics.

Officials of Department of Statistics and Probability are regularly granted grants from the Grant Agency of the Czech Republic (GAČR), Higher Education Development Fund (FRVŠ), and the University Internal Grant Agency (IGA). Department of Statistics and Probability togehter with the Department of Economic Statistics of VŠE, University of Matej Bel in Banska Bystrice (SK) and University of Economics of Oskar Langego in Wroclaw (PL) organizes international conference Application of Mathematics and Statistics in Economy (AMSE), which takes place every year alternately in the Czech Republic, the Slovak Republic and Poland

In addition  the Department participates in the preparation of many seminars and conferences organized jointly with the Czech Statistical Society and other institutions (Statistical Days, ROBUST, STAKAN etc.)
